Friendship Place

The newest Covenant Enabling Residence of Minnesota opened its doors in October 2008 in the Twin Cities' northeast metro area of Lino Lakes and was at capacity within 2 months. The home, located on a two-acre site provided by Rice Creek Covenant Church, Friendship Place reflects our commitment to providing quality living opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.

Hopes and dreams will grow in an atmosphere that reflects the love of God and Bible-based Christian values. Friendship place will enable eight adults with developmental disabilities to test their independence while having a supportive structure available day and night.

A dedicated group of volunteers worked for nearly seven years to make the dream of having a Covenant Enabling Residence in Lino Lakes a reality.

To reduce the construction loan required, the Friendship Place Management Advisory Committee secured substantial donations from the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church and others. They obtained the required construction loan from National Covenant Properties.

The Management Advisory Committee continues to fundraise to ease their debt burden and welcomes any assistance that you can provide.

Currently residents at Friendship Place participate in various activites inside and out of the home. Some residents work while others participate in volunteer opportunities in the community.

Members for the congregation at Rice Creek Covenant Church assist with arts and crafts projects, bible studies and share an occassional meal with our residents.
